YOUNG PERSONS SUPPORT WORKER (HOUSING)

LOCATION:

DURATION:
Temporary (strong chance for permanent)

HOURS: 35 hours Monday-Friday

SALARY:
£13 an hour

Do you feel passionate about ensuring young people who are homeless or have experienced adverse childhood experiences have the best possible start in life and achieve their full potential? Do you want to ensure all young people have access to a safe and warm home?


If so, a forward-thinking charity who successfully delivers a number of housing and emotional support services in Wales is seeking a strong, resilient and compassionate support professional to join their team in Bridgend.


Joining a friendly and close-knit team, you will deliver a trauma-informed tenancy support service to young people who are vulnerably housed within the community.

You will assess the needs of each young person, working with them to draw up personalised support plans to promote independence and enable them to achieve positive goals.

You will provide relevant advice and support on housing and financial matters such as resettlement, benefit entitlement, budgeting, rent payments, as well as encouraging them to access education, training and employment opportunities.

Furthermore, you will link individual's in with other specialist support services to provide a holistic package of care.


We are looking for someone with experience working with young people or vulnerable groups who have experienced homelessness, housing crisis, domestic violence, substance misuse or challenges to their mental health.

You will need to be confident in using your own initiative, be able to stay calm in crisis and have excellent communication/listening skills.

Working with a caring and experienced Manager, you will be instrumental to the services continued development.

You will be entitled to a competitive salary, weekly pay, sociable working hours, business mileage and the potential to progress your career and training.

Although initially temporary, if you fit in well you may benefit from a permanent position within the company
