Eventus Recruitment is currently on the lookout for a Legal Cashier to join a renowned law firm situated in the vibrant Manchester City Centre. In this opportunity, you'll step into a full-time permanent role with the flexibility of hybrid working. Role Responsibilities

The chosen Legal Cashier should hold a minimum of 3 years' proficient experience in legal accounts. Some key responsibilities will encompass:

  • Daily posting of office and client bank transactions
  • Handling bank transfers such as CHAPS, BACS, and International payments
  • Managing petty cash and reconciling it monthly against the nominal account
  • Processing purchase ledger invoices and coordinating their payments
  • Dealing with client ledger disbursement invoices and making payments accordingly
  • Generating bills and accurately posting them to the respective client ledger, which includes credit notes
  • Performing cheque printing and cancellations when needed
  • Handling staff expense claims
  • Accepting card payments over the phone and processing them
  • Addressing inquiries related to client and supplier ledgers
  • Overseeing business and client banking tasks
  • Providing support with daily, monthly, and yearly end reports
  • Posting HMLR fees, HMCTS PBA Account court fees, and Companies House fees
  • Maintaining and updating the HMCTS PBA Account spreadsheet, reconciling it against the nominal account
  • Recognizing and posting client to office transfers on client ledgers, handling the weekly transfer journal
  • Collaborating with fee earners and Directors

Person Specification

The ideal candidate for this role will demonstrate outstanding communication skills in both written and verbal forms, coupled with a proactive 'can do' attitude. Furthermore, the following skills and attributes are highly desirable:

  • Extensive experience of 3+ years in legal accounting
  • Proficiency in conducting Bank Reconciliations
  • Effective communication abilities
  • Advanced skills in Excel
  • Familiarity with Solicitors Accounts Rules
  • Excellent organizational and time management capabilities
