Waste and Recycling Segregator

We are looking for an experienced waste/recycling segregator with some general experience and common sense.

To segregate/co-ordinate the daily recycling service for 3 hours each morning, Monday to Saturday at Basingstoke Train Station/depot.


We recycle all of the waste that is taken from trains during the cleaning shifts, that being plastics, paper and card products, tins and food waste which is then segregated into designated bins/containers, leaving just general waste for incineration or landfill.


This is an existing role on a contract that has been running for 5 years, so everything is in place for you to walk straight into the position without the need to set the job up or make any changes to the existing set up.


Basic recycling training will be given and you would need to have an induction at the station due to the Health and Safety requirements of South West Trains.


The person
Ideally situated in the Basingstoke area.

Have a decent level of experience in waste segregation and the processes involved for recycling targets.

Able to communicate across a wide range of personnel, with good people skills.

Must be organized with a proactive approach.

The rate of pay is £12.50 per hour during probation and will be reviewed regularly.
