Come be part of our enthusiastic team at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital in Main Theatres. We need a Theatre Practitioner to join the scrub team in General Theatres.

We're seeking a motivated individual with strong communication skills to join our fast-paced and supportive team. You must have great organizational skills and the ability to work well within a team. Our shift patterns cover a mix of earlies, lates, long days, nights, and weekends.

We recognize the importance of supporting professional growth and provide training opportunities both internally and externally.

Main Duties of the Job:

  • Participate in a scrubbed/circulating role as needed for patient care during surgical procedures
  • Deliver high-quality peri-operative care based on evidence
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate patient-focused care in line with peri-operative guidelines
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team
  • Act as the patient's advocate during surgical procedures
  • Develop clinical skills in consultation with a mentor/Team Leader
  • Expand knowledge related to peri-operative specialty
  • Prepare instrumentation/equipment for peri-operative sessions
  • Ensure proper cleaning and preparation of equipment and surgical areas
  • Adhere to Trust policies including Health and Safety and Infection Control
  • Mentor and support colleagues as part of a cohesive team
