Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician

Oakdale, Newport

£48,000 + Overtime + Training + Progression + Pension + Holiday + Benefits + Permanent role + 4 on 4 off schedule (Continental - Days & Nights)

Are you a maintenance engineer or technician with a mechanical or electrical skill set? Have you worked within a production/manufacturing background or similar?


The opportunity:
You have the chance to join a well-established company experiencing growth and success.

  • Provide breakdown service to production areas ensuring safety, quality, and productivity goals.
  • Carry out planned maintenance on plant/production machinery for safe and efficient operation.
  • Support the Engineering Supervisor in facility development and enhancement.
  • Actively identify and address any substandard areas.
  • Investigate and resolve mechanical and electrical faults.
  • Execute planned preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Assist in commissioning plant and equipment.
  • Collaborate with sub-contractors for enhanced equipment knowledge.
  • Oversee 'general' building and facilities maintenance.
  • Contribute to the introduction of new machinery and products.
  • Co-operate with internal departments for seamless operations.

Requirements:
  • Completion of an engineering apprenticeship, HNC level, or relevant experience.
  • Previous manufacturing environment experience.
  • Proficiency in both mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair.
  • Familiarity with pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to perform both proactive and reactive maintenance using scheduled systems.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, especially Siemens S7/Mitsubishi, is beneficial.
  • Capability to interpret technical drawings.

Position:
Permanent

Salary:
Up to £48,000 depending on experience

Shifts: 4 days on, 4 days off, including nights
