The role
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will provide holistic lifecycle systems engineering support to replenish activities within the Skynet programme.

Day-to-day, you'll:
  • Provide expertise in the support of replenish activities
  • Deliver tailored systems engineering activities in accordance with the top level Engineering Management Plan (EMP) and ITEA Strategy
  • Own all system engineering artifacts for your assigned work packages, including development of engineering plans in conjunction with the Technical Lead
  • Lead work packages from requirements capture to delivery in accordance with Babcock processes
  • Manage and work with cross-functional and transversal Subject Matter Experts to plan and execute project delivery
This position involves occasional travel/working across a range of internal and customer sites within the UK and overseas, as a requirement of the role.

This role is full time, thirty-seven hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.

Essential experience of the Senior Systems Engineer
  • Proven experience in holistic life cycle management with balanced competencies across the Systems Engineering discipline
  • Experience of a range of delivery methods (waterfall, lean, agile, DevOps, etc.)
  • Systems architecture and experience in leading small team and projects
  • Knowledge of UK MOD KiD practices and ways of working
  • Practitioner in determining and managing stakeholder requirements, life cycle tailoring, verification, validation and transition to operation
Qualifications for the Senior Systems Engineer
  • Degree or equivalent in Telecommunications or Electronic Engineering
  • HNC/HND with equivalent, relevant experience is valued and welcomed
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance for this role.
