About the Job Title and Company:
Join Gi Group as they are looking for an experienced Housing Allocations Team Leader to work in Northamptonshire. As the Housing Allocations Team Leader, you will oversee the Housing Allocations Team, manage the Housing Register, and provide housing advice to those in need.


Duties of the Housing Allocations Team Leader:

  • Ensure all team functions align with the Housing Allocations Register and Housing Act 1996.
  • Supervise the team's investigations and decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with medical advisors for cases with special requirements.
  • Build relationships with ALMO and Registered Providers.
  • Lead Housing Register reviews as needed.
  • Support team learning in various areas related to housing and homelessness law.

Role Criteria:

  • Demonstrate strong leadership, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing abilities.
  • Manage conflict and challenging situations effectively.
  • Analytical skills for interpreting complex data.
  • Detailed knowledge of current housing laws and regulations.
  • Understanding of welfare reform and benefits system changes.
  • Knowledge of public sector dynamics and key policies.
  • Familiarity with services provided by various agencies, including health and social care.
  • Clear understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality.
