The role is a key member of the finance team, with a commercial focus, and responsibility for revenues and costs in their designated division.

Please note this role requires travel to our Birmingham office 3 days a week

What You Will Do

  • As the Head of Reporting & Systems, you will be responsible for overseeing the reporting and systems function within Advanced. You will lead the team to develop and maintain efficient reporting processes, implement robust data systems, and provide accurate and timely insights to support strategic decision making. The Head of Reporting & Systems will collaborate with various stakeholders to optimise reporting capabilities, drive system enhancements, and ensure the availability of reliable and actionable information across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting & Strategy

  • Design and execute the organisation's reporting strategy, aligning it with business goals and objectives.
  • Establish and manage all data structures within Finance. Including the finance hierarchy, the cost centre structure, and the chartered accounts.
  • Define reporting standards, policies, and guidelines to ensure consistency and accuracy of reports.
  • Monitor and evaluate reporting systems, identifying opportunities for improvement, and driving continuous enhancements.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Oversee the development and delivery of insightful reports, dashboards, and KPIs to various stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with departments to understand their reporting needs and provide guidance on report design and optimization.
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security in reporting processes, adhering to relevant regulations and standards.
  • Conduct indepth data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for business improvement.

Systems management and optimisation:

  • Lead the selection, implementation, and integration of reporting systems and tools.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure data infrastructure and systems support reporting requirements.
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to reporting systems, including automation, data visualization, and selfservice capabilities.
  • Drive the adoption of best practices in data modelling, data governance, and data management.

Team leadership and development:

  • Manage and mentor a team of reporting and systems professionals, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.
  • Promote crossfunctional collaboration and effective communication with stakeholders across the organization.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, identify training needs, and foster a highperforming team environment.

What You Will Have:

  • Formal accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • 5 years+ post qualification experience
  • Proven experience in a leadership role overseeing reporting and systems functions.
  • Strong knowledge of reporting best practices, data analytics, and business intelligence tools.
  • Experience in implementing and managing reporting systems, data warehouses, and data integration processes.
  • Proficiency in data visualisation tools such as SQL
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including team management, coaching, and development.
