What does the job involve?

  • Supporting PMO with periodic reporting internally and to stakeholders, including the DfT, to provide transparency of performance and progress to the Programme(s)
  • Ensure that contractual compliance is being undertaken across the projects, and support the PMO function in implementing key governance controls and processes
  • Manage the Change Control process across Capital Works projects
  • Identify, assess, report and contain compliance through the implementation and execution of stage gates and health checks
  • Assist in the development, review and implementation of Assurance Processes, ensuring that the programme controls achieve best practise
  • Develop and Implement project control tools, techniques and principles
  • Champion the development of Project Controls within the business and to ensure the application of Project Controls processes are consistently applied
  • Administer governance to ensure robust cost and schedule performance for the agreed Scope of Work across programmes is managed
  • Building reports and dashboards from functional specifications
  • Detailed documentation of report testing approvals and quality assurance
  • Ensure preparation of business-critical reports, regular and ad hoc reports for use by the senior management team

What skills and experience do I need to do the job?

  • Implement and oversee compliance reviews
  • Write reports which include presentation of results, the rationale for findings, risks posed, and action required to address the risks
  • Project management experience
  • Degree educated or equivalent
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders
  • Demonstrate and knowledge of financial implications on projects, as well as wider financial concerns including risk and contingency requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility and tenacity to be able to achieve project objectives and overcome barriers to progress
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
