CK Group are recruiting for a Senior Laboratory Scientist to join an independent diagnostic laboratory based near Blackpool. This position is a permanent role offering a salary upto £35,000.

The Company:

Our client is a well-established, independent diagnostic laboratory providing services to veterinary practices across the UK and worldwide.

Senior Laboratory Scientist Role:

Your main duties will involve:

  • Preparation of Cytology smears and fluids for analysis.
  • Performing tissue trimming, embedding, microtomy, staining and special staining techniques for Histological evaluation.
  • Liaising with Lead Pathologist for distribution of Cytology/Histology sides to pathologists.
  • EQA scheme submission, reviewing and troubleshooting.
  • SOP reviewing
  • Providing direct training and support to Laboratory Scientists and Assistant Laboratory Scientists

Your Background:

  • Educated to a BSc/MSc in a life sciences degree
  • Minimum of 4 years of industrial experience in Histology, Cytology or Pathology
  • Experience of Digital Pathology advantageous
  • Familiar with LIMS
  • Managerial experience would be desirable
