Contract - Permanent, Full time

Hours - 40 hours per week

Role Overview
Ensure material spend for the business is given to vendors who can deliver quality products to the business. Manage stock levels of products for Kings Lynn and Malacca locations.

You will also be responsible to motivate and monitor the performance of thefulfilment team to ensure the smooth & efficient receipt & processing of orders and supply of parts to production both in Kings Lynn and Malacca.

Review and provide monthly feedback to the operations manager.

Duties of the Purchasing Manager includes

  • Deliver company objectives for the department inline with company strategy.
  • Develop performance measures for purchasing and SOP.
  • Monitor material spend, stock levels, lead times, rejects, value & invoicing and report on monthly basis to operations manager.
  • Review and create new vendor contracts to ensure favourable terms for the business.
  • Manage long lead times & supply chain issues to maintain uninterrupted supply of components & purchased parts.
  • Responsibility for the performance of the fulfilment team
  • Complete & review risk assessments
  • Maintain training & cross training programmes to ensure that personal development of the team is met

Team size within Purchasing Manager responsibility -2 persons in Kings Lynne & 1 persons in Malacca

Required Experience & Skills of the Purchasing Manager -

Essentials

  • Degree or equivalent in experience.
  • Proven track record within a procurement function.
  • Effective use of MRP(ERP) Buying suggestions/reports & POP.
  • Managing supplier relationships.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Good knowledge of Excel & Word.
  • Highly motivated,
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Team player.

Desirables

  • IOSH managing safely.
  • CIPS.
  • Proven track record within electronic component procurement function.
  • Background within electronic engineering or production setting.
  • Sales & Purchase order processing.
  • Good working knowledge of Epicor, ISO 9001, CI
  • Familiar with electronic component vendors.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
