Plant Manager Job Description

Our client, a leading global organisation in the manufacturing sector, is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to join their team in Kings Lynn. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the operational efficiency of the business, ensuring productivity, cost, quality, and output are optimised.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the entire plant product manufacturing operation, identifying areas for improvement and implementing modern manufacturing philosophies, techniques, and systems.
  2. Interface with other departments to create efficiencies in quality and delivery, and develop a strong team with a positive attitude within the manufacturing function.
  3. Ensure due diligence when dealing with personally identifiable information, in accordance with current data protection regulations.
  4. Recruit and train staff to meet the needs of the business.
  5. Manage the day-to-day running of the factory unit, producing and maintaining a production plan that meets sales orders and key stock levels.
  6. Review and monitor the production plan to ensure lead times are maintained or improved.
  7. Monitor and control production/cost efficiencies, reducing costs where possible.
  8. Ensure the Company's Stock replenishment/Kanban system reflects current production capabilities and results in efficient purchasing and inventory management.
  9. Review current methods of manufacture and recommend and implement cost reduction and production efficiency improvements where necessary.
  10. Manage and develop both quality and health and safety systems.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, with experience in volume and small batch production in a semi-automated and manual environment. A competitive salary and generous benefits package, including 25 days holiday, are on offer.

Working Hours:

Monday to Thursday 07:00-16:00, Friday 07:00-13:00
