Employee Relations Manager


Castlefield Recruitment are working in partnership with an NHS organisation based in London that requires an experienced Employee Relations Manager for a minimum four month assignment commencing in January.

This role is a hybrid working role post with dayrate of between £225 and £250 per day (umbrella).

Key responsibilities will include;

  • The post holder will work independently to provide a specialist employee relations and resolution service to managers and staff across the designated areas. The role will require working closely with managers and management teams to improve the standardof ER practice, ensuring that best practice is developed.
  • The role will provide advice and support to line managers on a range of human resource management issues including, but not limited to, employee relations issues such as discipline, grievance management, poor performance and sickness absence and workplacedispute management.
  • A key function of the role is to develop the skill and capacity of managers to empower them to manage people issues effectively and independently. The postholder will hold their own caseload to include complex cases and hearing appeals. The post holderwill drive the delivery of a resolution approach to support the Trust's Restorative Just Culture model in the delivery of advice to managers in order to build confidence in dealing with complex peoplemanagement issues.

Key experience and skills to include;

  • A degree plus CIPD qualification or masterslevel qualification or significant commensurate experience in a senior HR role CIPD qualified or significant experience in an employee relations role.
  • Formal training in a relevant topic such as coaching, mediation or employment law.
  • Significant demonstrable experience of advising a range of stakeholders on a broad range of ER issues balancing legal compliance with business need and developing practical valueadding solutions.
  • Experience of managing multiple complex ER cases from a strategic perspective.
  • Experience of producing and delivering training.
  • Experience of working with an NHS organisation.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate on very complex, sensitive and contentious issues.
  • Ability to effectively challenge and negotiate.
  • Ability to manage complex workloads and work to conflicting deadlines with mínimal supervision.
