Examinations Area Coordinator

The Role


Hutchison Ports (UK) - Port of Felixstowe is the largest deep-water Port in the UK and to support our continued growth and development we are looking to recruit for an Examinations Area Coordinator.


Reporting to the Examination Facilities Manager, the primary purpose of the role is to ensure all aspects of the external Examinations Area yard marshalling and bay operations are planned, scheduled and completed in compliance with the company Health & Safety Policy and all agreed safety procedures and Safe Systems of Work.


To work with the Examination Area Supervisors to deliver safe, productive, and coordinated support activities within the Examination Facilities area.


Key Requirement

  • All work is completed in compliance with the companies Health & Safety policy and all agreed safety procedures and Safe Systems of Work.
  • Coordinating daily activities ensuring safe, smooth and therefore productive running of Examination Facilities and taking instruction from the Supervisors as required.
  • Maintenance of yard integrity with regular checks and monitoring, updating changes in relevant inventory systems.
  • Shipping Trailer movements (including Driver Accompanied) within, to and from the Examination Facilities.
  • Positioning of Shipping Trailers in the hardstanding area.
  • The movement, and positioning of Shipping Trailers on examination bays for opening and Gas Testing.
  • Gas Testing support to all areas of the Examination Facilities.
  • Provide administrative support for Examination Facilities as required.
  • Maintain knowledge of all relevant Health & Safety policies and procedures, ensuring that own working practices and those of visitors to the area are in accordance with them. Always take corrective steps when standards are not met. Participate in the regular review and improvement of these procedures.

Who are we looking for?

Suitable applicants should meet the following criteria:

Essential:

  • Prior experience working in an operational role and following strict safety procedures.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Current and working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Full UK Driving License.

Desirable:

  • IOSH Managing Safety (or must be obtained within 6 months of appointment)
  • Gas Testing competency (or must be obtained within 6 months of appointment)
