Your duties will include:

  • Actively leading and supporting the implementation of OD and workforce improvement initiatives
  • Coaching managers in the process of implementing change and supporting those involved in and affected by it
  • Regularly reviewing and assessing established working practices and staff management practices to ensure they continue to support efficient operational delivery
  • Developing and evaluating an effective and deliverable workforce plan that fully supports the delivery of key business objectives
  • Establishing and overseeing the delivery of an affordable recruitment and retention plan
  • Increasing workforce planning awareness and capability across the division, and commissioning appropriate associated training and development interventions
  • Analysing divisional workforce data to identify priorities and plan future actions through regular review of workforce metrics
  • Providing expert advice, guidance and support in the management of employee relations issues, particularly those of a complex and sensitive nature
  • Effectively monitoring the type, complexity and volume of employee relations cases in order to identify trends and identify particular issues which need to be addressed
  • Assessing the capability and capacity of professional HR management and taking appropriate measures to address areas of concern and/or underperformance
  • Ensuring line managers have a good level of understanding of the provisions of key workforce and HR policies and procedures and how these are applied in practice
  • Strong public sector background
  • Sound understanding of employment law
  • Experience of policy and process improvement
  • Proven experience in a senior HR role
