The Package

  • Salary of £30,962 pro rata from 1st of April 202
  • Fixedterm contract until 30th September 202
  • Working 35 hours per week Monday to Friday, with some flexibility available with start and finish times
  • Agile working with tenant home visits across North Wales with an office base in either Llandudno Junction or Bangor

The Role - Income Officer
Reporting to the Income Manager, you'll maximise rental income by managing arrears cases within a designated geographical area

This will involve:

  • Negotiating and administering payment arrangements, chasing all failed payments up to the point of transfer to the Income Legal Officer
  • Conducting pretenancy work and providing money advice, assisting applicants with housing benefit and universal credit forms and claims with the local authority or DWP
  • Updating tenant diaries with details of all communication, as well as signposting and referring tenants to Housing Benefit, CAB or specialist money advice agencies as appropriate
  • Processing legal notices and assisting with the management of court order cases
  • Interacting with the Income Legal Officer on the handover of arrears cases, ensuring diary notes are comprehensive, accurate and complete
  • Reporting on income collection and tenant engagement, highlighting any areas of deprivation or where there is a cluster of arrears so that services can be tailored and targeted at tenants who need them the most

Our Requirements - Income Officer

  • Good knowledge of welfare benefits systems
  • Willingness to travel to tenant addresses in North Wales and access to your own means of transport
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent communication skills, with a confident and polite telephone manner
Although not essential, the ability to hold basic conversations in Welsh would be highly advantageous.
