Location: London, England, United Kingdom (Hybrid)
The Green Recruitment Company are currently retained by a Renewable IPP who are looking for a Senior Manager of Renewable Development to join their UK office. The team have a 6GW pipeline with multiple projects being ready for construction in the next 12 months.
The role can come in at the Development Director level or SDM with the view to being promoted to Development Director after 6-12 months.
The business is paying a basic salary + bonus + LTIP.
The role:- Oversee and manage the development of a diverse portfolio of energy assets employing mixed technologies.
- Collaborate closely with internal grid, planning, and development support teams to advance sites through the pipeline, mitigating potential risks.
- Innovate solutions to address technical, political, or planning challenges and facilitate project initiation.
- Handle comprehensive planning submissions for each project, ensuring compliance with key requirements and local considerations.
- Demonstrate adeptness in managing multiple projects and relationships concurrently, engaging with landowners, authorities, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
- Populate and regularly update development tools, such as project trackers and risk registers.
- Generate project progress reports and presentations for internal purposes, addressing key risks associated with each project.
- Serve as a mentor to fellow development professionals, ensuring effective workload management and supporting ongoing professional development.
- Assist the origination team in maintaining a steady flow of projects through the development pipeline.
- Manage program resourcing, budget, and risk effectively.
- Substantial development experience, showcasing a successful track record in delivering utility/NSIP projects.
- Proven expertise in renewable energy project development in the UK market, with a preference for international experience.
- Familiarity with various technologies, such as wind or hydrogen.
- Comprehensive experience across the entire development scope, encompassing commercial, financial, and contractual aspects.
- Specific knowledge of later-stage development processes, including transitioning projects to construction teams or project sales.
- Proficiency in stakeholder engagement, both internally and externally, to seamlessly interface with the development team.
- Demonstrated capability in managing and developing teams, ensuring high performance standards.
- Hands-on approach with the ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Willingness to engage in a variety of tasks and projects.
- Strong problem-solving skills, offering creative solutions to challenges.
- Self-motivated with effective workload management and clear communication of progress.
- Experience in verbal and written communication and negotiation with key project stakeholders.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with commercial awareness.
