CPRD Senior Contracts Team Leader to join our
Clinical Practice Research Datalink team in the
Safety and Surveillance group.

This is a
full-
time opportunity, on a
permanent basis. The role will be based in 10 South Colonnade, Canary Wharf London, E14 4PU. Please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas.

We are currently implementing a hybrid way of working, with many colleagues working a minimum of 4 days per month in the office, building up to a minimum of 8 days over the coming months.

The remainder of time can be worked remotely, or in the office. Some roles will need to be on site more regularly.

This role is open to current civil servants only

The MHRA is transforming, creating a progressive, responsive and sovereign regulator of medical products that is a fundamental requirement to achieve the innovation set out in the UK Life Sciences Vision.

The new Safety and Surveillance Group brings together into a single integrated structure devices and medicines safety expertise with enforcement capabilities.

These functions will be supported by our data and evidence generating capabilities complementing our signal generating capabilities produced via the new Safety Connect System.


Part of the Safety and Surveillance group, The Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD), jointly sponsored by the Agency and the National Institute for Health Care Research (NIHR), is the UK's preeminent research service providing access to anonymised NHS data for research.

In addition to supporting high quality observational research, CPRD has developed world leading services based on using real world data to support clinical trials and interventional studies.


What's the role?


The
CPRD Senior Contracts Team Leader role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the UK Government's premier data-driven research service
.

This role is a part of the Business Management team, managing the CPRD contracts team and providing business contracting, legal drafting and business administration using expert knowledge to shape legal solutions.

This role will lead the CPRD contracts team as senior manager, undertake complex CPRD casework and manage CPRD contracts at very senior level by leading internal and external discussions and negotiations using sound expertise in healthcare, data and contracts law.


The Senior Contracts Team Leader will lead contractually major CPRD projects, such as CPRD's Intervention Research services and CPRD contracts automation and will make a significant contribution to CPRD's business planning by providing legal advice to CPRD Senior Management Team and CPRD staff.


Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the CPRD contracts team
  • Oversee the contracts team negotiation and drafting
  • Provide business administration and improvement
  • Promote CPRD's reputation, business interests and Stakeholder management

Who are we looking for?


You will also have proven experience of securing and maintaining the confidence of a range of stakeholders by building and maintaining effective and successful relationships with a variety of stakeholders in a client-facing role and Managing a Quality Service - with a strong sense of personal accountability, ensuring tasks, projects and issues are appropriately dealt with to their successful delivery or conclusion.
