We currently have an exciting opportunity for a
CPRD Head of Business Operations to join our
Clinical Practice Research Datalink team in the
Safety and Surveillance group.

This is a
full-
time opportunity, on a
permanent basis. The role will be based in 10 South Colonnade, Canary Wharf London, E14 4PU. Please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas.

We are currently implementing a flexible, hybrid way of working, with a minimum of 4 days per month working on site to enable the collaboration and contact with partners and stakeholders needed to deliver MHRA business.

Attendance on site is driven by business needs so depending on the nature of the role, this can flex up to 8 days a month, with the remainder of time worked either remotely or in the office.

Some roles will need to be on site more regularly. Remote working is potentially available for some specific roles. Please discuss this with the recruiting manager before accepting an appointment.

The MHRA is transforming, creating a progressive, responsive and sovereign regulator of medical products that is a fundamental requirement to achieve the innovation set out in the UK Life Sciences Vision.

The new Safety and Surveillance Group brings together into a single integrated structure devices and medicines safety expertise with enforcement capabilities.

These functions will be supported by our data and evidence generating capabilities complementing our signal generating capabilities produced via the new Safety Connect System.


The Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD), jointly governed by the Agency and the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), is the UK's preeminent research service providing access to anonymised NHS data for research.


CPRD services are designed to maximise the way anonymised NHS clinical data can be used to improve and safeguard public health.

For more than 30 years data provided by CPRD have been used in a range of drug safety and epidemiological studies that have impacted on health care and resulted in over 2800 peer-reviewed publications.

The UK is in a unique global position to use clinical records in novel ways for patient recruitment, clinical trials management and follow up.

In addition to supporting high quality observational research, CPRD has developed world leading services based on using real world data to support clinical trials and interventional studies.


What's the role?


The
CPRD Head of Business Operations role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the UK Government's premier data-driven research service
.

The CPRD Head of Business Operations is responsible for overseeing the effective operation of CPRD's functions as well as improving operations to achieve efficiencies, managing the CPRD budget, overseeing CPRD's audit programme.


Overarching responsibilities involve recognising business and operational improvement, financial and contract administration, managing CPRD staff resources and reporting progress against operational targets.


You will also be working closely with the CPRD Senior Management Team and liaising with a range of CPRD staff and members of the MHRA Finance, HR and Policy Divisions.


Key responsibilities:

  • Efficient management of CPRD operational services and functions
  • Implement business improvements and oversight of CPRD projects
  • Provide timely and accurate business management reports
  • Provide a key liaison role on behalf of CPRD and People management

Who are we looking for?


You will have expertise in all aspects of business management including managing organisational budgets, procurement, contract management and financial administration with strong personal accountability, taking responsibility for efficient delivery and oversight of projects as evidenced by writing/reviewing position statements clarifying organisational position and clear interpretation of regulations/requirements.
