Exciting opportunity at this highly regarded not-for-profit global society – 'never be bored' working in the events team and with responsibility for delivering the marketing of their varied European & Caspian events programme – the leading events programme in their sector. (The role is initially offered on a six month contract til the end of December 2024, but offers great potential to extend to perm).

Organisation

You'll be joining a highly regarded and long established global society that sits at the heart of the Oil & Gas and energy sector – over 100k members in 150 countries – its events are the most important in their sector. Supported by the expertise and structure of the Dubai-based global marketing team, you will work at the heart of the UK based Europe & Caspian events team – working closely with the Senior Event Manager, and alongside sales and content.

Role :
You'd be responsible for the marketing of all their Europe and Caspian events, delivering on marketing plans and campaigns, to targeted audiences of delegates, sponsors, exhibitors etc. The role requires excellent project management skills, alongside your proven event marketing understanding and delivery expertise. The role will bring lots of contact both with your team, and the wider international organisation – and as such will be an exciting and stimulating role in a very interesting community/sector. The role will involve attendance at events eg Kazakhstan in November, Croatia next year . Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage all aspects of marketing for events (workshops and conferences) in the Europe and Caspian regions (main focus will be 4-5 conferences/exhibitions over the period)
  • Development of activity across all marketing channels including websites, email, print, social, PR, video, paid advertising and PPC.
  • Manage budgets including tracking of committed and actual expenditures.
  • Ensure regional marketing activities are in line with global brand guidelines.
  • Work with key media and association partners to secure valuable external promotion of events.
  • Create event marketing assets and materials which includes copywriting, editing and proofing marketing materials for all channels and mediums.
  • Support content-led marketing campaigns which consist of creating and repurposing valuable, relevant, and consistent content to enhance engagement and raise awareness.
  • Assist the Sales team with support of creating sponsorship and exhibition marketing materials.
  • Analyse the performance and success of marketing campaigns and make recommendations for future activity.
  • Build excellent relationships with the event management team and proactively communicate marketing progress.
  • Develop and manage relationships with international colleagues.
  • Sustain strong working relationships with external stakeholders, including partner organisations and design agencies.

You:
We are looking for an experienced Event Marketing Executive or Manager, with excellent communication and project management skills. If you have previously worked in a Professional Body or similar membership body or association that is highly desirable. You'll love working on the exciting challenges and results of working on event marketing, and would enjoy the experience of working in a well established and supportive global team, alongside working in a tight event project management team. Very much looking for someone highly organised, who enjoys being in control of driving forward varied projects, strong on digital marketing, good on copy, would enjoy communicating to a professional global audience in this hugely interesting sector The ideal experience and skills needed would include:

Experience and Skills:

  • 5+ years of previous experience in a similar event marketing position, with a degree in marketing or similar field.
  • Solid understanding of the events and digital media landscape.
  • Demonstrable experience in marketing campaign planning including excellent project management skills.
  • Experience of event marketing from an Association, Professional Membership body, or Commerical events background is great
  • Ability to manage projects from concept to production, including supervising schedules and budgets.
  • Experience using analytics and reporting to measure campaign results and action optimisations.
  • Experience delivering content marketing campaigns including repurposing and writing compelling content.
  • Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Experience with Marketo, Canva, InDesign, Photoshop, LinkedIn, website CMS, digital asset management systems, and PowerBI or similar would prove advantageous.
  • Results-driven and a strong focus on commercial success.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, working autonomously and as a team. Ability to build and foster excellent relationships with business stakeholders of all levels.
