Purpose of the role:

To provide an efficient and effective administrative and liaison support service for the Sixth Form and the Careers Service

Responsibilities:

Sixth Form

  • Maintaining an accurate record of sixth form attendance on SIMS, producing reports as required
  • Support for 1619 bursary process
  • Organise sixth form parents' evenings and open evening
  • Assist Sixth Form Learning Manager with target groups of students
  • Assist with visits to external schools
  • Ensure external students go through an induction process
  • Administrative support for assessments, exams and year 11/sixth form results days
  • Complete administrative tasks for the sixth form team
  • Support in the organisation and resources for Unifrog
  • Support Year Tutor and Head of Sixth Form in liaising with parents/carers and organising meetings
  • Create and distribute identity cards for new sixth form students
  • Provide support to the Senior Council

Careers

  • Promote additional UCAS resources to help students keep informed regarding their progression
  • Administrative support for events, eg: Destinations Day, STEM week, work experience, University trips and summer schools
  • Be the Apprenticeship link in terms of student visits to companies and taster days
  • Organise careers fairs and, where needed, develop 'virtual events' including internships and specialist work experiences
  • Administrative support for guest speaker programmes
  • Maintain the National Careers Service course directory
  • Maintain the Careers Hub library
  • Support Head of Careers
  • Support partnerships such as the Enterprise Advisor programme
  • Support the collation of destination data for year 11 and year 13 leavers
  • Source and compile feedback from students, parents, teachers and employers

General

  • Using specialist software as required, eg: SIMS, Unifrog
  • Attend Year 12/13 parents' evenings, information evenings and open evenings
  • Order any resources required
  • Maintain the sixth form learning environment and careers information including displays
  • Maintaining an uptodate record keeping system including student files and careers education records
  • Providing administration cover in other areas of the school including student services, reception and reprographics when required
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings, training and briefings as appropriate
  • Be aware of, and comply with, all the Academy policies and procedures, in particular those relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection.
  • Contribute to the overall ethos, work and aims of the school.

Leodis is a Multi-Academy Trust comprising of four founding members; East Ardsley Primary, Hill Top Primary, Westerton Primary and Woodkirk Academy and one additional academy, Blackgates Primary.

The post holder is based primarily at Woodkirk Academy and may, on occasion, be required to work across a number of sites.
