About the Trust
Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust provide community health, specialist mental health and learning disability services for people across the south of England.
They are one of the largest providers of these types of service in the UK, employing around 8,000 staff who work from over 150 sites, including community hospitals, health centres, inpatient units, and social care services.
What you'll be responsible for:
- Provide a secretarial service to the clinical team at Leigh House Hospital
- Accurately transcribe (both audio and handwritten) confidential correspondence, discharge summaries, reports, filing and other work as requested within agreed timescales for the professional team
- Make appointments and maintain the diary for clinicians and professional team
- Provide efficient and effective highquality service, including meeting the public and dealing with telephone enquiries
- Photocopying, filing and general administrative duties
You'll learn the following whilst working at the trust:
- An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS
- Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
- A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation
You'll have the following skills/experience:
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Packages e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Previous audio typing experience.
- Previous minute taking experience.
Depending on the Trust, you may require variable additional certification and skills._
