The responsibilities for the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero for 2023 are as follows:

For 2023, our priorities are:

  • Ensure security of energy supply this winter, next winter and in the longerterm bringing down energy bills and reducing inflation.
  • Ensure the UK is on track to meet its legally binding Net Zero commitments and support economic growth by significantly speeding up delivery of network infrastructure and domestic energy production.
  • Improve the energy efficiency of UK homes, businesses and public sector buildings to meet the 15% demand reduction ambition.

Job description:

  • This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team in the Offshore Petroleum Regulator for Environment and Decommissioning (OPRED). OPRED is based in Aberdeen and reports into the Energy Development and Resilience Unit, part of the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero.
  • OPRED regulates the environmental and decommissioning activity in the UKCS (UK Continental Shelf), working in partnership with industry throughout the lifecycle of oil and gas activity, promoting good practice and enabling industry compliance.
  • Within OPRED the Offshore Environmental Unit (OEU) has operational and policy functions to regulate the Offshore Oil and Gas industry.
The Business Support Team (BST) sits within the OEU and our key function is to provide administrative support for the Environmental Managers and Offshore Inspectors

Using IT to redact documents on request.

Provide the required administrative support at meetings, take notes, etc.

Maintain data accurately including electronic filing of data.
