Our work with small businesses Launched in January, Grow London Local (GLL) is the one place SMEs can get free access to small business support and services they need to thrive.

SMEs can access the GLL service in two ways – digitally or in person. They can explore our online library for events, support programmes and expert-led content designed to help them achieve your business goals, provided by our network of national, regional and local business support partners
Purpose of role It's an exciting time to join us to explore opportunities to collaborate more deeply with our partners We work with a range of public, private and third sector organisations to help us amplify our business marketing campaigns, extend our audience reach, widen brand awareness and consolidate our position at the heart of London's business support and service ecosystem. As Head of Business Engagement you will be responsible for leading all aspects of the GLL business engagement strategy, including partner identification, engagement and retention, developing highly productive relationships with our key stakeholders and building mission-driven initiatives that deliver our objectives and strategic business priorities.

Key Tasks
  • Leadership of the Business Engagement Team; motivate and inspire the team to high performance, set a clear strategy, accountability and a culture of continues personal development and learning.
Create and lead the team in pro-active business engagement and account management by delivering:
  • A clear business engagement strategy to deliver our business objectives and amplify business marketing activity
  • Develop a value proposition aligned to business needs
  • High levels of partner satisfaction and retention, translating into high rates of renewal, strong NPS scores and engagement
  • Creation and delivery of plan to recruit new stakeholders, aligned to GLL business audience priorities, proactively targeting organisations who strategically align to London and partners.

Systems, processes and ways of working to effectively manage collaborative initiatives and projects:
  • Communications including emails, newsletters and digital channels
  • Create and deliver a partner programme of high quality and relevant co-marketing activities
  • Escalating specific partner issues to relevant director
  • Invoicing and debt collection where relevant
  • Management and reporting and performance against KPIS (value in kind, pipeline management, attrition, referrals, satisfaction)
  • Driving efficiencies through process and systems improvements
  • Ensuring consistency and best practice across business engagement schemes

Working collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation, particularly Business Marketing, Content and Commercial and Partnerships team to:
  • Shape partnership value proposition and collaborations that are mission driven and support the delivery of our objectives
  • Secure new partners
  • Deliver value to partners

As a Head of at London and Partners:
  • Work closely with other leaders in the commercial directorate to create an inclusive and high-performance culture
  • Work with other heads and GLL Senior leadership team to contribute to culture and performance of GLL and London and Partners
  • Demonstrate sector leadership externally and be voice for Grow London Local.
You'll have/bringKnowledge and Experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to clearly communicate when engaging with internal & external stakeholders, in a confident and articulate manner.
  • Ability to build long-term, productive partner and client relationships and develop high quality, valuable opportunities, products and services for key stakeholders
  • Hands-on project management experience delivering marketing and communication projects
  • Ability to effectively create, develop and implement work and project plans
  • Ability to develop winning presentations and proposals and create engaging content
  • Knowledge and understanding of B2B partnerships and a passion for supporting micro and small business community, DE&I and delivering social impact
  • Attention to detail with high professional standards.
  • Be proficient with digital technology including CRM systems such as Salesforce and accurately report on campaigns.
