About the Role
We currently have several opportunities for Occupational Therapists, within our West Essex area.
The West Essex area covers Harlow, Epping and Uttlesford.
This offers the opportunity for those joining us in West Essex to be involved in initiatives that run across authorities and organisations.
With close proximity to bordering counties and North EastLondon the area is ideal for those that want to commute to Essex.
Occupational Therapists, working for ECC, undertake a range of assessments, interventions, and support for the residents of Essex, with a focus on occupation, activity, choice and control.
To empower the residents to achieve their functional goals and aspirationsthe OTs use a strengths-based approach, utilising appropriate community assets, and providing appropriate adaptations and equipment.
Our OT's also undertake related aspects of social care work, such as safeguarding, mental capacity and best interest assessments,care and support planning and ensuring the appropriate support from other agencies is in place or available.
What sets our Occupational Therapists apart is the sheer diversity of the work.Join us and you could find yourself making an impact in housing, community sector coalition, commissioning, provider quality, organisational safeguards, mental health or learningdisabilities, to name a few.
About You
To apply, you'll need a degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy, or equivalent qualification, with current Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration.
You'll also bring:
- Evidence of continuing professional development and capability of practice in accordance with current professional standards.
- An indepth understanding of the financial implications of commissioned care packages.
- The ability to make clear decisions, to highlight and limit potential risks associated with intervention.
A driving licence and car - or the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means -
is essential.
