Support for Learning Assistant

Falkirk Children's Services is seeking to employ a Support for Learning Assistant at Head of Muir Primary School. This post will provide support for learning resource aimed at delivering continuity for children and allowing for further service improvement.

You will undertake a range of support activities including general supervision of children to ensure their safety and well-being. You may be required to provide more intensive support for children with additional support needs to ensure that individual plans are carried out regularly and efficiently. Support for Learning Assistants are crucial to the successful delivery of our services to children and are valued team members in many of our settings. This role requires you to work as part of a busy team of staff, so good communication skills are essential for this post. You should possess a positive, can-do attitude and be flexible in your approach.

If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to gain/maintain PVG scheme membership.

You will be be based in the Early Learning and Childcare Class. The post is part time (18 hours, worked over 3 days – Monday to Wednesday), term time and is permanent. You will also be required to register as a Support Worker with Scottish Social Services Council and obtain the required qualification as SCQF Level 6 within the qualifying period.

Please note the salary will be adjusted pro-rata accordingly for part time and term time working.
