ABOUT THE ROLE


This role combines concrete roles and work under the UNIDO and CATAL1.5oT projects with general learning and facilitation requirements under the ESV team.


The goal of the UNIDO project is to promote the role of the private sector in accelerating climate adaptation innovation through learning and knowledge management.

This project seeks to establish a common platform for learning and knowledge management on adaptation innovation and financing, that will not only strengthen the climate change approaches throughout the LDCF and SCCF portfolios, but it will also support replication of these projects by other private sector actors and improvement of the models and technologies being implemented in each of these projects in new project proposals.

CATAL1.

5oT:

Climate-KIC, together with GIZ and with funds from the Green Climate Fund and the German BMZ will support the development of climate entrepreneurial ecosystems in West Africa and Latin America.

Over six years, the project will provide on the one side capacity development and technical assistance to local Entrepreneur Support Organisations (local incubators and accelerators) to build climate entrepreneurship capabilities in key areas (measurement of climate impact potential, gender and diversity in entrepreneurship, adaptation and resilience and system thinking/innovation).

On the other hand, the project will launch a series of programmes to directly support local climate innovations with the local ESOs.

Climathons, city-focused hackathons to ideate around local climate challenges. A Pre-Accelerator, to support very early-stage climate ventures. And an Accelerator, to support seed/growth-stage climate ventures.

The programmes will include a broad range of support services for the ventures as well as financial support via (repayable) grants.


ABOUT YOU


The Learning Experiences Lead will play a key role in leading new learning experiences in our team and programmes, facilitating Communities of Practice and generating insights from the COPs.

This person will facilitate collaboration, learning, and resource-sharing among stakeholders, advancing our mission to invigorate private sector innovation in climate mitigation and adaptation within the international community with a special focus on Latin America and Africa.


Key Responsibilities
UNIDO project

In collaboration with the Community Manager, the person will be involved in the following activities:

  • Development and maintenance of the knowledge-sharing platform for the Communities of Practice.
  • Monitoring of the project to track the progress of the community building, understand and improve the creation and uptake of insights within and beyond the Communities of Practice.
  • Facilitation of knowledge capture, documentation, and dissemination processes.
  • Ensuring that knowledge products are easily accessible and meet the needs of the target audience.
  • Conducting a mapping exercise to identify key challenges and best practices for Entrepreneurship Support Organizations (ESOs) and MSMEs, to inform the CoP focus areas.
