Duration - 06/03 to 08/09
Hours - 30hrs/week, Tuesday-Friday
Tuesday other days flexible around core hours
- Excel, Word and Outlook essential, EPR desirable
- Ability to collect and interpret data with a good standard of numeracy
- Ability to give attention to detail ensuring that accurate and high quality information is produced
- Highly organised and able to meet project demands and deadlines
- Good IT skills; in particular Excel, Word and Outlook
- Experience of dealing with confidential and sensitive matters
- Good understanding of data protection requirements
- Experience of minute taking
- Working and engaging with senior staff
Role Overview:
- Provide, receive and discuss complex and sensitive mortality information
- Communicate effectively with clinical, managerial and administrative staff groups, developing networks to ensure that all clinical teams are aware of and understand the Learning from Deaths Programme
- Engage with stakeholders to better understand their requirements and support the development of appropriate solutions
- Employ negotiation and persuasion skills when necessary to progress next steps and agree timescales
- Provide clear instruction to note pullers to locate and deliver patient notes, or personal retrieval of notes from Medical Records, if the note pullers are unavailable
- Personal delivery of patient notes to allocated reviewer
- It will be necessary for the post holder to be involved in horizon scanning discussions and planning with regards to the direction of their own work stream. The post holder must be prepared to engage fully with these
- Work with the Medical Examiners to feedback SJR learning to clinical teams via Divisional Quality Governance Facilitators
- Ensure that trained SJR Consultants are made aware of any policy or procedural change
- Drive effective strategies to develop on collaborative working with other departments both at a local and national level.
- Monitor and escalate to relevant parties where necessary, to ensure action updates are provided to the Clinical Decision Panel
