About the role


Humankind's Independent Living Unit offers a range of housing-related support services, advice and guidance to help people obtain accommodation and progress towards a sustained independent lifestyle in the community.

We work with a wide variety of clients, often with histories including substance misuse, offending, mental ill health and homelessness, to overcome barriers and achieve social inclusion.

The following opportunities has arisen to join our successful Thrive Barnsley Services.

  • Thrive Barnsley Services are a 15bed accommodationbased service and support in the community for those who are in housing need and have complex needs, such as substance use, mental health, offending issues. The service offers a mix of individual support work with our residents and individuals who have their own tenancies in Barnsley.
  • You will be allocated a low caseload of clients to work intensely on, maximising their income and pay rent, reduce debts, develop independent living skills and maintain their health and wellbeing. You will work as part of an experienced and committed team and will be outcomefocused and committed to help Barnsley residents realise their full potential.
  • The Service operates a shift rota between 9am5pm, and one day per week 12pm8pm, provided on a flexible basis in line with the requirements of the service. The post holder will work flexibly as required to meet the needs of the service. This will require 1 weekend work in 4 and bank holidays. Also depending on your experience, the Salary Scale can be negotiated.

  • This is a full time role for 37 hours per week, on a rota basis.
