Job summary

In this role you will be involved in both office based and field based activities where you can use your communication and marketing skills to recruit members of the public to become blood donors. Supporting the plan to achieve the targets of the new donors attending and the directorate objective to make donation matter.You will be involved in national campaigns and activities, implementing these on a regional basis and supporting the wider community engagement team to achieve the campaign objectives. Undertaking outreach activities to key organisations and businesses, distributing assets, liaising with contacts and supporting national campaigns. Organising Blood group testing events, undertake blood group testing at these events and managing the required kit. You will be reporting on recruitment results on a regular basis to ensure we evaluate, learn and adapt plans as required. You will have an opportunity to save the lives of patients through recruiting life-saving blood donors and working with the public, local organisations and business.

Main duties of the job

In this role you will be supporting the community engagement team to meet the new recruits attending targets for the region, through the organisation of new donor acquisition activity by: Supporting the development of a regional plan to meet acquisition and conversion targets. Organising recruitment events in various key locations within the region and supporting other regions in their events when required. Proactive approaches to new businesses as agreed with your line manager / within the strategic plan to meet organisational objectives.Being responsible for developing relationships with key third sector and corporate organisations within the region.Responsible for representing NHSBT in a positive way and helping to achieve strategic objectives including blood type testing. Promoting organ donation and other forms of donation where appropriate.You will be required to travel and spend time away from base, which will involve working irregular hours, including weekend and bank holiday working, particularly during campaign periods, with prior notice.
