W12Together exists to help create a unified, empowered, healthy, well-informed, cohesive, understanding and celebrated community who shows kindness through caring about others and the community as a whole.


This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and enthusiastic Community Development Officer to assist W12Together with its legacy ambitions by encouraging the involvement of the local residents whilst prioritising the social media presence to ensure a wide range of individuals are reached.


The Community Development Officer will report to the Programme Manager whilst working alongside a board of volunteers to oversee the daily finances, assist with identifying funding opportunities and monitor the progress of the W12 Plan.

This role would suit a self-motivated individual with experience forming connections within the diverse community. They will have an eye for details and be comfortable undertaking various administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively engage and encourage local residents to participate in the W12 Big Local Partnership
  • Participate in recruiting, supporting and guiding volunteers
  • Prioritise W12Together's social media presence to ensure hardertoreach groups and reached
  • Oversee the project's daily finances
  • Contribute to partnership meetings, helping to maintain accurate documentation
  • Provide support for the identification of funding
  • Undertake administrative duties in relation to the projects
  • Proven experience working in a community setting or similar
  • Evidence of assisting and delivering project plans
  • Experience connecting with the diverse community, being confident and approachable to people of all ages, cultures and ethnicities
  • Ability to work flexibly, including some evenings and weekends
