Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program for senior residents in an assisted living and dementia care setting
  • Plan and coordinate a variety of engaging activities, events, and outings that promote physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing
  • Ensure activities are tailored to meet the individual needs and interests of residents
  • Collaborate with staff, residents, and families to create a stimulating and enjoyable environment
  • Maintain accurate records of resident participation and progress
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of activities and make adjustments as needed
  • Provide support and assistance to residents during activities as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in senior care, assisted living, or dementia care preferred
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff
  • Knowledge of therapeutic recreation principles and techniques
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities
  • Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with older adults
  • Understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by individuals in a nursing home or assisted living setting
