To work as part of a clinical and clerical team to support clinicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals. Provide an efficient general administrative day-to-day support to the department and the patients.


Duties will include booking of outpatient appts, managing Clinicians availability, ensuring all outpatient clinic availability is booked appropriately and fully utilised, dealing with incoming and outgoing telephone calls, post, filing, faxing and other general administrative duties.


To be responsible for the day-to-day co-ordination of all Respiratory appointments and Outpatient Clinics working closely with the Consultants, Nurses and administration staff.

To be responsible for the respiratory reception team ensuring a first-class patient experience is delivered.


To be able to prioritise your workload, process patient information in a confidential timely manner and work efficiently in a busy environment.

To ensure excellent communication skills are delivered when communicating with patients, relatives and health professionals.

To work within our busy outpatient team to ensure efficient running of outpatient clinics and waiting lists in respiratory.


Responsible for co-ordinating and booking all respiratory outpatient clinics working closely with a team of consultants, Nurses and administration staff.


This would be into include taking/making calls to patients, managing waiting lists, booking appointments, e-referrals and ERS on a daily basis.


Excellent organisational skills will be required for this post as you will need to Communicate well with all levels of staff and public.

To undertake effective administrative duties as part of the admin team required.


The post holder will be required to work as part of the administration team and Provide cross cover during periods of staff absence within their existing teams Within the Directorate as and when required.

This support should normally be provided during the core hours of 08:00am and 17:00pm.


However, to ensure alignment with Direct Clinical Care time of the Clinicians for whom they support flexibility from the core hours may be required and will be determined locally depending upon the needs of the service.
