Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced pharmacist to join our pharmacy team as the Medication Safety and Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacist.

About the Role

This is a pivotal position in the Pharmacy Department, and the post holder will support the Medication Safety Officer and Chief Pharmacist to progress the medicines safety agenda.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support the Medication Safety Officer to co-ordinate medicines-related Clinical Governance activities across the Trust, ensuring governance of medicines management is fully integrated within the organisation.
  • Support the running of the Trust Medicines Safety Group, to produce Trust-wide medicines safety communications.
  • Work with the Infection Prevention and Control team (IPC) and key clinicians to support the development of a Trust antimicrobial stewardship strategy and review antimicrobial prescribing data.
  • Provide a clinical pharmacy service to an allocated ward within the Trust and report to the Deputy Chief Pharmacist.

Requirements
  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacist.
  • MPharm degree, or equivalent pharmacy qualification.
  • Post-graduate diploma in clinical pharmacy, or equivalent level of knowledge and experience.
  • Evidence of recent continuing professional development.
