This is an
SEMH Teaching Assistant role in the Tameside area starting ASAP on a full time & long term basis at a secondary Pupil Referral Unit, PRU, for children with Social, Emotional or Mental Health needs, SEMH.

Pay up to £85/day.

  • SEMH Teaching Assistant at a secondary PRU in the Tameside area.
  • Starting ASAP on a full time basis.
  • Could turn permanent for the right person.
  • Hours are 8:30am 3:30pm.
  • Pay up to £85/day.
  • As a new SEMH Teaching Assistant you will need to support pupils in learning to manage their own Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs, SEMH.
  • You will be working in groups of no more than 8 pupils at a time.
  • You will need to work as a team to manage challenging situations and make progress with your pupils emotionally and academically.
  • 1:1 pastoral support will be required as well.
  • Pupils respond well to motivation, encouragement & positive reinforcement.
  • Great opportunity to make a real difference to those who need it most.
  • Build strong relationships with your students.
  • This is a secondary PRU for children aged 111
  • Rated good by Ofsted.
  • You will be provided with regular CPD.

SEMH Teaching Assistant** role, you will need to:

  • Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable)
  • Minimum of 2 professional references.
  • Provide a CV with a full history from your education until present.
  • Have the legal right to work in the UK.
  • Some experience supporting children or young adults with challenging behaviours.
