About the Role:

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant to join one of our client secondary schools. This role is crucial in supporting students with SEMH needs within a secondary school environment. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other staff members to create an inclusive and supportive learning atmosphere.

Salary: Up to £1900 per month.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to students with SEMH needs, helping them engage with their learning.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s specific requirements.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their social and emotional development.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to adapt lesson plans and activities that cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Monitor student progress and behaviour, providing feedback to teachers and parents as necessary.
  • Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities related to SEMH support.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEMH needs.
  • A relevant qualification in education or child development (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification).
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young people in their educational journey.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
