About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team at a reputable secondary school in the Tameside area. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about education and supporting students in their learning journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the classroom teacher in delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to students.
  • Provide support to students with special educational needs (SEN) or additional learning needs, ensuring their inclusion and progress within the classroom.
  • Collaborate with the teaching staff to plan and implement effective strategies to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Support students in their personal, social, and emotional development, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and resources, ensuring they are tailored to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to both students and teachers, identifying areas for improvement and implementing appropriate interventions.
  • Promote positive behaviour management techniques, encouraging students to take responsibility for their actions.

Requirements:

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school setting is desirable but not essential.
  • Knowledge of relevant educational policies and procedures.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively engage with students, teachers, parents/guardians, and other stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive approach to professional development, keeping up-to-date with current educational practices and trends.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
