Inventory Planner

Hybrid working (1-2 days a week in Corby, Northants)

About the opportunity


In this role you will be working within our diverse world class global Inventory Management team, this role will be managing supply plans in line with our non-stocked inventory strategies, maximising effective stock delivery to promise.

You will be the key interface for relevant vendor supply plan enquiries for both external (vendors) and internal stakeholders such as Category Inventory, Demand Planning, P&SM, and SD&O.

You will help resolve queries regarding product deliveries and optimising return on investment through cross-functional improvement initiatives, implementation of established industry best practices and employing a total cost of ownership approach.


What you will do

  • Manage Supply Plan in line with Category and Cell inventory strategies
  • Manage Purchase Order Book to ensure it meets Demand Forecast including expediting and rescheduling
  • Support Inventory Control in mitigating Excess inventory whilst keeping within Category and Cell Stocking Policies
  • Manage exceptions to Supply Plan including but not limited to zero/low stock and customer order shortages
  • Resolve queries regarding product deliveries, working closely with Operations
  • Support Buying teams in improving or maintaining vendor performance and identifying cost reductions
  • Work closely with Demand Planning to ensure Supply Plan meets customer requirements

  • Ability to demonstrate customeroriented thinking
  • Good understanding of inventory management principles and practices
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • MS Excel proficient (e.g. Vlookups, Pivot Tables)
  • Ability to interpret data and reports and provide clear analytics / recommendations
  • Ability to challenge status quo and drive for high performance
  • Ability to operate within a global organisation and to demonstrate cultural awareness
