  • We need your help to protect the water environment in East Anglia. It has never been more important to manage the sustainable use of water resources, for public water supply, agriculture, and other sectors, whilst protecting and enhancing the environment.
One role will support our work managing the impact of public water supply on the environment. The other role will support our work managing water availability to other water abstractors.

In both roles we will train and help you to develop and learn new technical skills in managing water resources.

Amongst your day-to-day tasks you are likely to be involved in:

  • Monitoring and reporting progress of public water company projects designed to protect and improve the water environment.
  • Updating our water resources evidence base, data, and plans.
  • Providing data and evidence to our regulatory teams so they can take action to protect the environment.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do.

You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident.

This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.

The team- You'll join our friendly and welcoming Integrated Environment Planning team, which has experts in water quality, water resources and catchment planning.

We work with internal and external partners using data and evidence to identify environmental challenges then find ways to solve them.

  • Experience/skills required An interest in the environment and, ideally, understand the current pressures on water availability in East Anglia.
  • You can use data and information to analyse a problem and work with others to identify solutions.
  • You're familiar and comfortable working with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, as we work with a lot of spreadsheets.
  • You can communicate with a wide range of customers in different situations such as by telephone, online meetings, and face to face.
  • You're organised and can work on your own projects, and as part of a larger, crossfunctional team, prioritising and delivering work to relevant standards and deadlines.
A driving licence would be helpful as there may be some travelling between offices occasionally

  • Contact and additional information
  • In East Anglia we want to create a diverse workplace where individuals are respected, valued, and listened to. We're all different, and by embracing Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) we can become an equal opportunity employer where we grow and learn together.
It is our ambition to champion diversity through building a workforce as diverse as the communities we serve.
The roles will be based at our Brampton or Ipswich offices.

We will accommodate working from home, but you will be required to attend your base location on a regular basis.

This is a full-time post although requests for other work patterns will be considered.
