We currently have a vacancy for an Administration Team Leader within our Community Paediatrics Team.


The Community Paediatrics Service consists of Community Paediatricians, nursing staff and a nursery nurse team, all of whom are supported by a centralised administration team.


We are passionate about providing outstanding joined up care for our service users and their families and are always looking at ways to develop and improve the service.

As a member of the Community Paediatric team you will work closely with the Community Paediatricians and the team of Specialists Nurses as well as the wider multi-disciplinary team to provide outstanding care and interventions to support the child and their family.


This key role will be to provide leadership with responsibility for the day to day management of administrative staff and for coordinating an efficient and effective administrative service to the Community Paediatric Teams.

Including analysing, investigating and resolving queries relating to admin data quality which will be used to measure performance. Coordinating meetings, using IT systems (i.e. Rio) and dealing with general enquiries. You should have relevant experience in these areas.


This role will liaise closely with Contractors, Trust Estates, IT, Procurement and Support Services Departments to ensure that the site is managed effectively and efficiently.


You will oversee the implementation of policies/procedures for your own work area and propose changes which impact on the administration team you manage.

You will need to be self-motivated, able to manage your working time effectively and have excellent communication skills.

You will also have a good level of education to NVQ Level 3/4 standard or equivalent level of knowledge and experience and RSA level III typing qualification.


  • You will undertake 1:1 supervision sessions and appraisals.
  • You will be responsible for day to day management of a team of administrative and clerical staff.
  • Confirm that all staff attend essential training.
  • Monitor sickness and absence, complete return to work interviews.
  • Be involved in the recruitment of staff.
  • Work across various sites within the service.
  • Analyse, investigate and resolve queries relating to admin data.

The service works with parents / carers and other health professionals, and providers of care to deliver medical assessment, investigation and management for children and young people within the South of Staffordshire.

Children under the care of the service present with a range of conditions requiring community medical support.

In addition the service also delivers Child Protection Medical Assessments, Initial Health Assessments as part of the delivery of care to Looked after Children and provides Adult Health assessments for the Adoption process.

To provide general administrative services to support the smooth running of clinical services including:

  • Supporting with the preparation of all documentation, including agendas, circulating papers and minuting meetings
  • Supporting the production of letters and reports, including gathering information and drafting documents on behalf of managers
  • To collect and input statistical information as required and ensure that reports where requested are delivered within timescales. To produce reports of statistical information, including providing a level of analysis of the information.
