Job overview:

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and compassionate Assistant Practitioner or Nursing Associate.

Working 30hours a week you would be Covering Maternity leave for 1 year, you will have an opportunity to learn new skills and develop within a specialist service.


Joining EDITT will give you great opportunities to be part of a supportive and diverse multi-disciplinary team who share the care of young people together.

If you're an experienced practitioner who hasn't worked in eating disorders before, you will have many transferable skills to bring to the role.

Our team can support you to learn the bits you may not know.

Main duties of the job:


Working intensively with 6-10 young people; the programme includes physical health monitoring, mealtime support whereby you will be expected to eat alongside the young people and coach them at the table.

There are Group & Activities as well as family and individual psychological therapy.


The post holder will typically be based at the Lighthouse on Hellesdon site, however they may be required to see patients in the community or at the general acute hospitals, therefore ability to travel is essential.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities:

Within the intensive treatment programme, you will be part of a dedicated multi-disciplinary team offering more intensive nursing and therapy interventions and practical support around mealtimes to help young people and their families engage actively in the recovery process and prevent the need for long hospital admissions away from home, family and friends.


Previous experience of working with individuals with eating disorders is not essential and we will welcome applicants who may have transferable skills and would like the opportunity to develop in a specialist area.

Qualifications:

Essential criteria:

  • Care certificate or relevant equivalent
  • Foundation degree in health and social care/mental health or apprenticeship in H&SC/mental health L5

Experience:

  • Working with service users with mental health needs
  • Working within a Multidisciplinary Team (MDT)
  • Working knowledge and understanding of CPA process

Skills:
