Job Title: Inventory Management Assistant at Northumbria Healthcare

Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our Inventory Management team at the Supplies Department Stores in Wansbeck General Hospital. The role involves maintaining stock levels for various wards and departments, as well as assisting in the Distribution Center. Reporting to the Inventory Team Leader, responsibilities include product counting, reordering, stock reviews, and interacting with Ward Managers to ensure optimal stock levels.

Main Duties:

  • Experience in stock replenishment or a stores environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, customer-oriented, and PC literate.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively across all levels.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform various stores tasks such as receiving goods, checking quality, and maintaining documentation.
  • Ensure sufficient stock levels by reordering with a bar code reader and collaborating with clinical staff.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Supplies terminology, transfer points, delivery schedules, and proficiently use stock control systems.
  • Effectively engage with hospital staff and external suppliers.

Person Specification:

Qualifications:

  • Essential: Understanding of purchasing principles through vocational qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Desirable: Familiarity with contract law through relevant courses and experience.
