Our delightful 15-year-old client is looking for a Sleeping Night Support Worker to join his team to help him manage his athetoid cerebral palsy and severe dystonia.
The Role/Client:
C is looking for a Sleeping Night Support Worker to join his growing team to help manage his athetoid cerebral palsy, severe dystonia (which affects his movements) and respiratory difficulties (when he is unwell).
C requires assistance with all activities of daily living including personal care, washing and dressing in the mornings and getting ready for bed.
C is non-verbal and uses facial expressions and some Eye Gaze to communicate and is able to express his likes and dislikes to his family and team.
***The duties/routines for this role are as follows:
- assisting the Waking Night Support Worker with our client's bedtime routine
- Waking hours between 20:00 to 22:30 and 05:30 to 08:30
- Sleeping hours between 22:30 and 05:30
Full training in all aspects of our client's care will be given and you will be fully supported by his Case Manager.
About You:
- You will have a minimum of 1 years' experience supporting a child/young person with complex needs.
- You will be confident in manual handling, providing personal care and gastrostomy management.
- You will be positive, reliable, and able to build a relationship of trust with our client and his family.
- You will need your own vehicle to travel to our client's home given the rural location.
- You will be comfortable working around animals as our client has a friendly Labrador dog, and not suffer from pet allergies.
Pay:
- £16 per hour Weekdays Waking Night hours
- £18 per hour Weekends Waking Night hours
- £24 Bank Holidays (weekdays) £27 Bank Holidays (weekends) Waking Night hours
- £10.20 per hour Weekdays Sleeping Night hours
- £11.40 per hour weekends Sleeping Night hours
- 20:00 to 22:30 and 05:30 to 08: hours) paid at waking night rate
- 22:30 to 05:30 (7 hours) paid at sleeping night rate.
Hours / Shifts available:
- Every Sunday 20:00 to 08:30 (Monday hours
- Additional hours to cover sickness and holidays always available.
- Our posts require an enhanced DBS certificate and operate a nonsmoking environment, at all times._
