We are seeking a Foreign Language Assistant to support the students with Spanish within the MFL department.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

The person appointed would be required to carry out the following duties as directed by the Assistant Subject leaders of MFL:

  • Work with the teacher in the classroom or with small groups in the MFL office supporting the teaching in the target language at KS3, KS4 and
  • Plan, deliver and resource small classes for students to prepare them for the oral examination and improve overall language skills
  • Carry out speaking mock exams and standardise this work as appropriate
  • Assist to a fortnightly meeting with the MFL department to discuss progress and planning
  • Participate in foreign languages events and enrichment activities (where appropriate)
  • Encourage the use of the target language at all times, in formal and informal
interactions, to develop confidence and fluency

  • Support MFL teachers in the creation and update of teaching resources
  • Role model the Christian Ethos of Tring School
  • Any other reasonable task directed
