Fantastic opportunity for a Waking Night Care Worker to join a Children's Residential Service to support children and young people with complex medical needs.

I am looking for an
ENTHUSIASTIC and
CARING individual who wants to make a difference to the lives of children & young people with complex needs, in a setting where they feel safe and cared for.

A caring and supporting individual will be best suited for this role, you must have experience with complex needs or elderly nursing care and be medication trained.

Ideally with a DBS on the update service, you will not need to be able to drive, however, you will be able to commit to 4 nights per week.


Salary:
£23,514 + plenty of overtime available

Hours:
Full time 38 hours per week


Shift pattern: 9.45pm - 7.15am

Rota: 4 nights per week to be worked on a rota basis - including weekends

Responsibilities:
As a waking night care worker your responsibilities will be:

  • Provide personal care to the children throughout the night in the home.
  • Administer medication when required.
  • To be able to deal with challenging behaviours when needed.
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
  • Maintain a safe environment for the young people.
  • Ensuring the safety of the students and maintaining an up to date knowledge of the individual's; care plan, guidelines, reward system and preferred method of communication.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with the staff, parents, Social Workers and other professionals that may be involved in the young people's lives such as Psychologists.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a Children's Support Worker in a similar setting is
    DESIRABLE:
  • Experience in elderly nursing or complex care is
    ESSENTIAL:
  • Due to the nature of the job you will be required to do personal care
    ESSENTIAL:
  • Experience in administering medication
    ESSENTIAL:
  • Ability to work in Southampton as a waking night care worker 4 nights per week
