Commencing salary £39,297 plus £1,188 lunch allowance per annum (pro rata for part-time)


The National Education Union is a force for change in the world of education, bringing together more than 450,000 teachers, lecturers, support staff and leaders working in maintained and independent schools and colleges across the UK.

Prospective applicants will need to be highly motivated and able to make clear, informed and effective decisions. They will have a sound understanding of employment concerns and the role of trade unions in addressing them.

Additionally, they will need to demonstrate strong IT literacy skills, good oral and written communication skills and an excellent telephone manner.

As supportive team workers, they will be able to function comfortably during periods of increased pressure.

Working hours in the AdviceLine are 35 hours per week (full-time) and follow a shift pattern between the hours of 9.00 to 19.00.


We offer good conditions including a commencing salary of £39,297 plus £1,188 lunch allowance pa, 33 days annual leave plus 4 days paid additional holiday entitlement as the NEU office closure days at Christmas and a defined benefit pension scheme.

Salary and benefits are pro-rata for part-time applicants.
