About the role
As a Senior Payroll Specialist you will execute and lead all aspects of the UK payroll for approx. 1000 employees. This is a stand-alone position integrated within the UK HR Team.

What you'll be doing

  • Processing daily payroll operations for the UK, such as: overtime, shift payments, time attendance, allowances, and bonuses.
  • Process UK monthly payroll timely and in compliance with UK Regulatory requirements.
  • Review output reports from payroll provider, ensuring all instructions have been correctly interpreted and processed with 100% accuracy.
  • Undertake reconciliation and analysis of payroll data.
  • Prepare the UK monthly payroll Sarbanes-Oxley Audit file for Management approval.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records including new starters and leavers.
  • Assist Finance and Treasury with posting payroll journal entries and other reporting requests.
  • Manage vendor relationships.
  • Answering questions from employees and supervisors regarding payroll matters
  • Ensure all UK payroll processes are compliant with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, advising HR/Payroll on best practice
  • Assist Internal Audit with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act in respect to our European payrolls' compliance, advising, where necessary, on process/controls best practice and/or improvements

What you'll need

  • Proven UK payroll processing experience is required
  • Knowledge of other European payrolls desirable but not essential.
  • Experience of an automated payroll system and strong Excel skills (Pivots and VLookups).
  • Experience of integration of payroll with internal HRIS, desirable but not essential.
  • Organisational sills with strong time management skills. Capable of managing several projects / processes; working independently with limited supervision.
  • High level of attention to detail with good analytical and numeracy skills.
  • Good communication skills able to partner with Finance, local HR, local vendors, and Employees when necessary.
  • Capable of explain complex payroll concepts/processes to a nonPayroll audience.
