An opportunity has arisen for a therapeutic radiographer to cover a 10-month fixed-term band 7 pre-treatment position. (10 month FTC maternity cover) within the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust's radiotherapy department. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic individual who will fit in quickly with the pre-treatment team.


This opening is an exciting time to join our team; we are supporting the service to develop new systems of work and foster collaborative working with a strong focus on integrated governance.

You will have the opportunity to expand your knowledge of the pre-treatment process and work with a team committed to improving and streamlining the patient pathway.

We actively support professional development and encourage radiographer led research and QI projects. We support leadership development with excellent leadership development programmes delivered by the Trust. We were the first London radiotherapy service to adopt all of its clinical and physics workforces as Macmillan professionals. We also support flexible working arrangements with the pre-treatment team working 9-day fortnights or reduced hours.


Operating mainly from our Charing Cross site, our equipment portfolio includes four TrueBeam Linacs, Philips Brilliance CT scanner and Xstrahl unit; our Elekta Flexitron Brachytherapy unit is based at Hammersmith Hospital in a dedicated brachytherapy suite.


Interviews will take place week commencing 19thJune 202- To provide high quality, effective individualised treatment and care to all patients.


  • To carry out all practical aspects involved in preparing and delivering radiotherapy treatments.
  • To lead & support teams in allocated pretreatment areas on a rotational basis.
  • To support the coordination, implementation, and continuous development of a quality improvement culture within the Radiotherapy service.
  • To support the coordination, implementation, and continuous development of a culture of safe, highquality care in the Radiotherapy service, through effective and robust integrated governance processes and procedures, including statutory and regulatory compliance.
