We are hiring a Support Worker for individuals with Learning Disabilities. This role involves empowering service users to enhance their quality of life and actively participate in their communities.
Main responsibilities:
- Provide daily care to promote independence and well-being.
- Support service users in making choices and exercising their rights and responsibilities.
Requirements:
- GCSE Grade (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.
- NVQ 2/3 or willingness to work towards it / Previous experience in the care sector.
- Possession of a clean Driving Licence.
- Basic IT skills, especially in Microsoft Word.
We are seeking candidates with:
- Excellent customer service abilities.
- Flexibility in providing services.
- Comfort in delivering personal care.
- Empathy towards individuals with Learning Disabilities.
- Ability to move and handle service users safely.
- Willingness to travel to different locations.
- Knowledge and understanding of Learning Disabilities' current issues and a person-centred approach.
- Awareness of relevant legislation and policies like Valuing People.
- Familiarity with the Protection of Vulnerable Adults guidelines.
- Capability to offer services in a non-judgemental and person-centred way.
- Enhanced DBS check or on the update service.
