About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Learning Assistant to join our Disability Services department at Bradford College. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing non-teaching support to students with disabilities, learning difficulties, medical needs, and mental health issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to students with special educational needs, promoting their independence and academic success.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans, ensuring students receive the necessary accommodations and support.
  • Conduct regular progress reviews with students, providing verbal and written feedback to teaching staff on their progress and accessibility needs.
  • Assist in the preparation of teaching aids and materials, ensuring they are accessible and inclusive for all students.
Requirements
  • GCSE 5-9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in Maths or be prepared to pass a test prior to interview to demonstrate level 2 ability and then if appointed achieve within an agreed timescale.

  • Level 2 Safeguarding is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience of supporting people with disabilities and/or learning difficulties, including voluntary work and/or student placements.
  • Experience of working in an education setting is desirable but not essential.
